How to use Cartinuum widgets in ArcGIS Enterprise

Gary Johnson July 11, 2025

The widgets in Cartinuum’s extensions for ArcGIS bring enhanced capabilities to ArcGIS Experience Builder.

If you’re using ArcGIS Enterprise, this guide walks you through purchasing a widget, registering your portal, and activating the widget via a manifest and license file.

This guide is for ArcGIS Enterprise users using Experience Builder 1.13 or later.

For ArcGIS Online, consider using our Hosted Experience Builder or you can download the widget code to use in your own local developer edition.

Step 1 – Purchase and access your widget

Visit the store and select the widget you want (e.g. Save Map State), and complete the checkout process. After purchase, you’ll be taken to your My Account dashboard where you can manage extensions and link your ArcGIS portal. 006 ArcGIS Extensions My Account

You’ll need to verify your email before you can proceed.

1. Open the email from Cartinuum.
2. Click Activate Account.
3. Wait for the confirmation message.

  2. Choose ArcGIS Enterprise Experience Builder from the download dropdown.
  3. You’ll be prompted to register your portal URL (e.g. https://gis.yourorg.com).

⚠️ You can only register one portal per subscription.

  1. Go to Content > New Item.
  2. Choose Experience Builder widget as the item type.
  3. Paste the Manifest URL provided in your Cartinuum account.

This creates the widget item in your portal.

Step 5 – Download and Apply the License File

Back in the Cartinuum site:

  1. Click Download license file (.lic).
  2. In your ArcGIS portal, open Experience Builder and add the widget to a new or existing app.
  3. In the widget’s settings panel, drag and drop your .lic file into the License Settings section.

Once the license is validated, the widget becomes fully functional.
